Prototyping and small volume production of photonic integrated circuits implemented using standard silicon manufacturing processes.
Imec.IC-link provides access to Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC) proto-typing and small volume production based on imec’s ISiPP50G silicon integrated photonics platform. Prototyping is implemented through a Multi-Project Wafer (MPW) service with two passive runs and two active runs (containing active elements such as modulators and photodetectors) scheduled each year. For quantities larger than the 20-25 samples delivered in an MPW run, dedicated runs can be requested which return approximately 15 200mm wafers.
