Graphene-based disruptive technologies
H2020, Future and Emerging Technology (FET) Flagship
01 October 2014 (imec joins) – 31 March 2018
With 170 academic and industrial research groups in 23 countries, the Graphene Flagship is one of the largest European research initiatives ever. The Flagship brings together researchers from academia and industry to take graphene out of a lab environment and into society. Graphene is the first available 2D carbon-based material with a huge potential to support disruptive technologies, both as substitution for existing materials, and in new markets and applications. Through the technology platform that the Flagship provides, this ‘wonder material’ will have a transformational impact on science, technology and society overall.

Federation for FIRE plus
Horizon 2020, Future Internet Research and Experimentation (FIRE)
01 January 2017 – 30 September 2021
The European internet industry is built on experimentally driven research. The project aims to build a European federation of infrastructures that each target a specific domain within the Future Internet ecosystem. By federating these infrastructures, innovative experiments can take place that surpass the boundaries of these domains. The infrastructure will be made available for experimentation by industry and research organizations, through Open Calls and Open Access mechanisms.
